Why all the emails?

People might ask why all the emails? Why all the liberal propaganda? I say as a lifelong moderate conservative it is important to understand and hear out the other side, regardless of where you end up on that issue. If one wants to keep track of the Second Progressive Era, one must pay attention to where people are generating most of the ideas that will become enshrined in law and in culture. Generally the change in American society has come from liberals, whether they be the abolitionists who were racist, the members of the Grange (a farmer's association), or the New York editors who finally decided to support the civil rights movement. A lot of modern "new" ideas have come in the past from them, such as gay marriage, transgender rights, healthcare for all, etc. It is worth it to watch small factions where the ideas come from. One also has to realize that cultural relativity is at play. Democrats meant conservatism for a good 100 years, and the Republicans were the liberals so to speak during that time--and they often as not switched around that pole. What changes is the demographics and policies each party uses to serve those particular demographics.
Yesterday's liberals are today's conservatives, as I like to say.

Most of these small groups right or left, run into funding shortages everyone in a while because they are pushing fringe ideas! But some of them just require timing and are good or even the right policy at a different time. Here is a request for donations from one interesting fight that has gotten to lay low recently: the battle over net neutrality. I promise I will sign up for more conservative group newsletters in order to see what is going on in both factions.

Logan,
It’s election day, and there’s a lot at stake. We can’t solve all of our problems at the ballot box, but it’s crucial that those who believe in Internet freedom show our elected officials that we’re paying attention—and that we vote.
And no matter who wins at the polls, the fight for net neutrality rages on.
Please go vote today if you can, and please share this update widely. Because when the dust settles and the votes are counted, we need the whole Internet ready to hit the ground running.
For net neutrality,
–Sarah, Evan, Beatriz, Dayton, Josh, Jelani, Joe, Ken, Laila, Shoshi, Terri, and Vasjen
